Title: Told the Surgeon: "I will heal myself!
Dear Bill Henderson, I have not read your books but I congratulate you on all your work, your research and the resulting books. I am 82 this fall and 7 years ago I was diagnosed with colon cancer and offered an operation. I had never been sick in my life and believed in my body's ability to heal itself and said to the surgeon that that was what I would do, heal myself. Well 3 doctors told me I would be dead in 3 years and a fourth one told me: "It would not be unreasonable for you to get ready to die' The funny part is that none of them asked me how I healed myself!
Well I went home and emptied the kitchen cupboards and the fridge and threw out everything in a can, a jar or a package. From then on I only bought and ate raw fresh fruits and vegetables, except for steaming the unpalatable vegs. I drank boiled water and nothing else. I ate whole-grain porridge for breakfast and organic rice for dinner with steamed vegetables and a huge salad of fresh greens and fruits between meals. After a while I loved my vegetable salad so much that I started eating it for breakfast. I also ate organic yogurt as a special treat with berries and/or honey. I had honey, molasses and maple syrup available for sweeteners, no sugar ever nor white flour nor white rice, nothing processed.
I did eat egg yolks according to Dr. Moermann's diet from Holland every day, mixed in with my salad dressing of olive oil, lemon juice and garlic or with yogurt. Olive oil is the only fat I ate except for in yogurt for the next 5 years.
I also made a point of going out every morning at 9.30am for a bicycle ride or a walk and stayed out for 2 to 3 hours for fresh air, sunlight and exercise. I still follow the same regimen and diet and am perfectly healthy, heart, blood pressure, weight, blood count. I had to get B12 shots to avoid anaemia. I think I have now told you everything I have done to get better. I got tricked into taking radiation before the operation but I said no to chemotherapy. I did have to have an operation in June 2005 to remove a dried up tumor in my colon,"clean edges, no nodes, no metastases" I could feel it because I sat on it and I requested an operation.
I was never tested for cancer except with Scans, which I now understand I should have refused. There does not seem to be any other form of testing for cancer but scans that show up a tumor?
Thanks for the good work, just adding my testimony
Your sincerely,

PS It helps to want to live but first one must believe in oneself's ability to heal oneself and trust one's own common sense.
