What Can You Do?
*****************
It’s great to be back from vacation. I enjoyed two weeks
in Spain visiting my wife’s relatives (and some of my old
friends) near Barcelona. My wife and daughter are spending
another five weeks there while I return to my keyboard and
my telephone and my dialog with you.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how to get information
to more people about how to deal successfully with cancer.
Two people, coincidentally, the other day both suggested on
the same day that I get Michael Moore to do a documentary on
“Cancer in America.” I consider this a “message from God”
and I’ll certainly look into it. But more than likely,
the mainstream media, even a radical like Michael Moore,
is not going to be the vehicle for getting the word out.
You and I are. People to people.
I’m about at my limit of personal effort. I answer a couple
dozen e-mails and half a dozen phone calls every day. I’m
delighted to do it. In the four years since my book was
first “published” as an e-book, the information I have
provided has helped over 500 cancer patients that I know of
become cancer-free. They are in many countries and all ages.
I am delighted with this result from my efforts.
But still 1,500 people every day die of cancer in the U.S.
alone. 17,500 people worldwide die of cancer EVERY DAY.
When I think of these numbers and realize that most of them
could have overcome their cancer with better information, it
almost literally breaks my heart. I feel impotent and frus-
trated.
What to do? I’m convinced that the best way to reduce those
numbers is for people like you and me to talk directly to
others. Sure, many will dismiss us as “kooks” deluded by
the “quacks” in “alternative” medicine. That’s life. Lots
of people have closed minds and accept the conventional
medical system as their best source of information. Trying
to change those closed minds is very frustrating and usually
a waste of time. On the other hand, I’ve found that about
40% of the people I know are open to new ideas — even to
the idea of “taking charge of their own health care.”
GET PROACTIVE
I want to urge you to get proactive in sharing what you know
about cancer. If you feel inadequate to inform people about
their options, refer them to me. I’ll do what I can. And I
want to beg (yes, beg) for your help to get me opportunities
to speak directly to people in a workshop or seminar mode.
I am very grateful to my friends who have helped me get face-
to-face with people who need the information I have and help
open their minds. I specifically want to thank:
* Russ and Gwynne Denison, my long-time good friends, for
helping me set up a workshop at their church here in San
Antonio.
* Patty Jones, a brave and resourceful cancer survivor, who
did a marvelous job organizing a successful workshop for me
in McCamey, Texas.
* Gaye Hooker, another brave cancer survivor, who got me an
invitation to speak to the Businesswomen’s Luncheon in Austin,
Texas on my favorite topic “Beating Cancer — Gently!”
* Gloria Gill, who lost her father to cancer last December,
who is just now setting up a workshop for me in Augusta,
Georgia on July 31st (more on that later).
* And, of course, Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Unlimited
Thought Bookstores here in San Antonio, who have helped me
with book signings and seminars in their stores.
I need more of these “engagements,” folks. They’re not hard
to set up. Ask Gloria Gill. She found a free location that
sounds perfect (a county government building). She is promot-
ing it with posters and handbills and by word-of-mouth through
her chiropractor, massage therapist, friend who owns a health
food store, etc.
COME ON DOWN TO AUGUSTA
For those of you who may want to attend the free workshop in
Augusta, here are the details. It will be on Saturday July
31st from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (bring your lunch). One reason
for the four hours is I’m trying to get Dr. Randy McCreary of
MSB Holistics Clinic in Buffalo, New York to join me in the
workshop. He has expressed an interest in doing a joint
workshop and we have been talking about this one for some time.
He is checking his calendar and hopefully will be able to be
there.
The location is the Columbia County Government Center at 630
Ronald Reagan Drive off Washington Road in Evans, Georgia, which
is about 5 miles up highway 104, Northwest of Augusta. The
workshop will be in the wing of the building closest to the
Justice Center building. If you need further directions, please
call Gloria Gill at (706) 860-0069.
I am paying my airfare. If I can recover some or all of it by
selling some books, fine. It is worth whatever the cost to me
to get the opportunity to interact directly with people who need
the information I have. Gloria and her husband have been kind
enough to offer me and Dr. Randy their guest house and to pick
us up at the airport to minimize our expense.
HOW ABOUT YOU?
Now, do you think you could do something similar in your home-
town? I know of no way for you to get greater satisfaction in
life than to help just one person become cancer-free who might
not have made it without your help. Here’s your chance to help
20-40 such people at one time. Believe me, it doesn’t get any
better than that!
Think about it. Would you like to join my crusade at the level
of involvement of the wonderful people above? I’d sure love to
have you. Call me at (800) 551-6209 if you want to discuss it.

Sorry, No More Free PolyMVA
****************************
Since my article on free PolyMVA for those who couldn’t afford
it appeared in my February 17th, 2004 newsletter,
http://www.beating-cancer-gently.com/newsletters/february-17th-2004/
a dozen or so of you have reported to me that you had been able
to get the PolyMVA free. Many of you praised Alexis Pierce,
the Research Director, for her help in getting it to you.
Unfortunately, last week, both Alexis Pierce and Dr. Al Sanchez,
the owner of the primary distribution company for PolyMVA, have
informed me that they can no longer continue to give it away,
except through two oncologists they work with — one in Nevada
and one in Florida.
If you have been receiving the free PolyMVA, you will continue
to receive it. No new patients will be added to the group
getting the free PolyMVA. She says there are still substantial
discounts for cancer patients who can’t afford it. You can
reach her at:
(866) 522-6237 or
From outside the U.S. (619) 713-0430, ext. 104

AN INTERESTING CANCER SURVIVOR’S STORY
My friend Chet Day recently published in his “Health Tips”
newsletter the following cancer survivor’s story. I found
it interesting and with thanks to Chet, I’ll pass it on:
“Dear Bill,
Irene King shares her fascinating experience with Level
III breast cancer and how she used natural methods to
dissolve a lemon-sized tumor, much to the amazement of
her doctors. Read this wonderful narrative to learn
about an alternative one woman used successfully rather
than relying on chemotherapy and surgery at
BRIBERY — IT’S WORKING
As most of you know by now, I collect cancer “stories.” Send
me yours — positive, negative or neutral — and I’ll send you a
free copy of the latest edition of my “Cure Your Cancer” e-book
by return e-mail. If you already have my book, you can just
give me the name and e-mail of a loved one or friend for me to
send the e-book to as a gift.
Without a national data base, we must exchange information with
each other on what works. Your story may help many others, so
just send it to me in an e-mail. Thanks!
In case you have wondered at the spartan simplicity of the
format of this newsletter, it apparently is perfectly
appropriate. A dear reader who is a technical writer for the
Web and much more knowledgeable about “style” issues than I
will ever be, has assured me that this format is the most
appropriate for an e-mail newsletter — simple text with
lines no longer than 65 characters. Most of you will notice
that the web links in this newsletter are highlighted in blue.
Clicking on them will open your browser and take you to that
site. If they are not highlighted (a la AOL), you may need to
“copy and paste” them into your browser. You’ll have to do
the same if you go to my newsletter archives at my web site…
“copy and paste.”
I’ll be back sometime soon with another newsletter. Be well
and send your friends to my web site:
