Crila — Something You Should Know About
***********************************
This month I’m taking a closer look at an herb first mentioned here about 2 years ago. You’ll find that previous mention of crinum latifolium in an article in my October, 2012 newsletter at http://www.beating-cancer-gently.com/newsletters/october-15th-2012/. Crinum latifolium was known in Asian folklore. The story goes that the wild herb was a secret for Vietnamese royalty. A king could have multiple wives so he had to keep himself, and his wives, fit. After the last king of Vietnam left power in 1945, the secret came out.
A modern Vietnamese scientist, Dr. Tram Nguyen, heard about “the King’s herb” and began studying Crinum in 1990. She was a pharmacologist and the first Vietnamese scientist after the Vietnam War to receive a grant for graduate study outside of Vietnam. Dr. Tram received her PhD in Chemistry from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She uses modern scientific research to study traditional herbs. European doctors from Bulgaria and the Innsbruck Medical University have worked closely with Dr. Tram for many years. Dr. Tram identified several varieties of Crinum plants found in Vietnam. Many look alike, and many are useless. She chose the one she believed had the most promise and went to work.
After realizing there were not enough wild plants, Dr. Tram started an organic farm, and eventually had enough for commercial production. She isolated various properties in the plant she felt were important. Over time she grew a proprietary plant with a unique DNA; and developed a concentrated extraction that could be encapsulated to maintain and support prostate health. The one you want is Crinum latifolium L var. crilae Tram & Khanh which is sold under the name Crila®.
Dr. Tram’s researchers in Europe and Vietnam have studied Crila® for nearly 25 years. Two clinical trials were conducted by the Ministry of Health in Vietnam. The first in 2005 found that Crila® was 89% effective to shrink men’s enlarged prostates. BPH, or Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, effects 50% of men by the age of 50, and almost 100% of men by my age (82). The symptoms can creep up on you gradually, so that you don’t even realize it, until you find yourself getting up every few hours at night to urinate. Simply stated, the prostate gland enlarges as we age, pressing against the bladder, making the bladder smaller so it can’t hold as much urine. BPH symptoms are also common in men with prostate cancer. Big Pharma drugs prescribed for BPH often come with side effects like impotence, so the Crila® prostate herb is a real alternative. When Crila® solves prostate problems, some men report increased sexual function as a side bonus.
A second clinical trial on Crila® in 2007 studied women who had uterine fibroid tumors. This is interesting because the tumors of 79.5% of the women in the study either stopped growing, or started shrinking. Women also reported reduced pain and flow from their menstrual periods. In many cases the fibroids dissolve completely over time. Since the most common recommendation for treating severe fibroids in the U.S. is hysterectomy, a safe herb that shrinks fibroids is a real alternative. You won’t find any advertising about this in the U.S. because Crila® is sold as a dietary supplement and the company cannot make medical claims. Menopausal women find Crila® highly effective for menopause symptoms, especially hot flashes and night sweats.
Sue McKinney is a California lawyer who has been doing business in Vietnam since 1994. She met Dr. Tram and was impressed with the doctor’s science and dedication, which struck a personal chord with Sue. Her dad had been a WWII Navy flier. She remembers his final years filled with pain and embarrassment due to prostate problems, always on the lookout for the closest bathroom. Sue and friends in several countries tried Crila®. Convinced it worked, they spent several years to bring Crila® to market in the U.S. American and European specialists were brought in to advise the Vietnamese how to meet FDA requirements. The plantations were expanded, and a new factory was built and registered as a manufacturer with the FDA. Legal requirements were met, one by one. Further test marketing and consultation with American scientists improved the products. DNA testing by an American lab proved Dr Tram’s plants are a unique “cultivar.”
Now Dr. Tram collaborates with researchers in the US. Testing by the University of Illinois in Chicago, College of Pharmacy confirms that Crila® is estrogen free. Avoiding excess estrogen is important for both men and women. A clinical trial scheduled to begin in September by Dr. Tori Hudson will further study Crila® for menopause in American women. Women interested to enroll in the study can contact A Woman’s Time, Dr. Hudson’s clinic in Portland, Oregon. Their website is http://www.AWomansTime.com.
Terry, my wife, and I met Sue at the recent Cure to Cancer Summit in San Diego in April. I learned about the Farm to Factory procedures the company follows, growing all their own plants to insure quality. I was already into my 3rd month on the Crila® for Prostate, which I’d found for sale online. I’ve continued taking it since April. My experience is that, of the dozen or more products I’ve tried for reducing the BPH symptoms, this was the best. These dozen or so products include the Crinum Prostate mentioned in my October, 2012 newsletter (see above) which wasn’t nearly as effective. I’ve had fewer trips to the bathroom both during the day and at night. A very welcome improvement for a guy my age, believe me. In the six months or so I’ve been taking it, I’ve had no inflammation symptoms (prostatitis, etc.) in my prostate, no pain and no bladder infections. No doctor has estimated the size of my prostate, but I’m quite sure it has shrunk somewhat.
Terry has been trying the Crila for Menopause for several months. She has found it helped her menopause symptoms, reduced her hot flashes and just made her feel better.
If you want to read the clinical trials conducted by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health for yourself, you can access these through the free, online archives of the Herb Research Institute http://www.herbs.org/herbnews/ a non-profit Colorado foundation. The Institute was founded in 1983 with a mission to support the public’s right to truthful information about the health benefits of herbs. They maintain a vast storehouse of information with more than 300,000 scientific articles on thousands of herbs. I’ve just been informed that the clinical trial reports on Crila will be posted in a few days.
Dr. Tram’s research in Vietnam continues. She’s been offered support by the World Bank which claims 300,000 Vietnamese have been “cured” with Crila®. Upcoming clinical trials in Vietnam will study a new extraction developed by the doctor for more serious conditions. My wife Terry and I have been invited to visit the plantations and factory in Vietnam. We hope to do that sometime.
You’ll find the herbal supplement products at http://www.crilahealth.com. Input this discount code on the checkout page for a 20% discount on the large bottle of each of the two products. There is also a half-price sale on the Crila for Menopause right now which won’t last long. Better hurry! OK, here are the two discount codes (“p” for Prostate; “m” for Menopause):
BH-180-p for the Crila for Prostate.
BH-180-m for the Crila for Menopause
I get no commission or payments from your purchase. The company ships everywhere from a U.S. warehouse, but isn’t set up to take telephone orders. You can write them at info@crilahealth.com to get the telephone number of a California store that accepts telephone orders, but doesn’t give you the discount.
Terry and I hope you will try this product. It is well proven to help problems that occur to almost every one of us. Let us know what you think, if you try one of the two products.

TY BOLLINGER GIVES YOU A GREAT LITTLE E-BOOK ON SUGAR
Just this week I got a copy of Ty Bollinger’s latest attempt to help you with information. He calls it “Sugar — The White Death.” Most of you know that Ty is a fellow author on natural cancer healing. His book is called “Cancer — Step Outside the Box!” You’ll find this great four-page article from Ty about sugar here:
http://TheTruthAboutCancer.com/sugar-white-death/
If you want to know all the variety of sugars and the health problems they cause, please read this short e-book.
A GREAT FO/CC RECIPE
All of you who have found the FO/CC mixture we recommend in our Cancer-Free book to be “yucky” will enjoy this one. Here’s the e-mail I got from Anne Loeser the other day:
“Dear Bill,
After nearly 2 1/2 years enjoying FO/CC for breakfast, I wanted to share my FO/CC recipe which stays true to the tenets of Dr. Johanna Budwig’s protocol, yet tastes absolutely wonderful! A (mouth-watering) picture is attached.
Bill, thank you for all you do!
Anne”
Well, I’m sorry, Anne. The beautiful picture of what this recipe looks like was too big to upload to this website. But at the end of the recipe below is a video on how to do it. So here is Anne’s recipe, which looks yummy, indeed!

HORMONE BALANCE FOR MEN — THE BEST BOOK I’VE READ ON THE SUBJECT
Harry Wynne was kind enough to send me a copy of a book I loved after I read it. All men should read this one to be prepared to talk to any doctor (urologist or whatever) about the subject of prostate problems, including cancer. The book is copyrighted so I can’t just pass on the copy I have to you. However, it’s available in both paperback and Kindle format at Amazon.com for $9.95. Here’s the title:
Hormone Balance for Men: What your doctor may not tell you about prostate health and natural hormone supplementation…by John R. Lee, M.D.
Please, if you’re a man or you know a man you care about, get a copy of this book.
MY NEW BOOK — A REMINDER
As I told you last month, I’m trying to put together another book that will give people a batch of examples of healing cancer with natural means. I can’t do it without your help. Here’s a repeat of the procedure that was in last month’s newsletter:
1. Send me an e-mail with the subject “Healing Stories,” a tentative title for this new book of ours.
2. Document your cancer experience in a page or two (800 words maximum) oriented to inspiring others to match your success. Be sure to describe the regimen and other efforts which were critical to your recovery. Be sure to include dates — original diagnosis, “under control” date, etc. How do you know it is “under control?” Include what you plan to do in the future to prevent a recurrence.
3. E-mail it to me at uhealcancer@gmail.com. Include your instructions about how visible you want to be. Completely anonymous? Your name only? Your name and location only? Your name, location and e-mail address only? Your name, location, e-mail address and phone number?
I will edit those I choose to include in this book. I will contact the authors for their approval of the edited copy of their “story.” If you have already given me your story, I will contact you to update it and get your permission to publish it.
Do your friends a favor and send them to my website:
Be well…and be sure to hug each other every day and lay your burdens down tonight!
