Well, I really appreciate all the concern you fine people showed about my condition. I’ve literally received hundreds of e-mails asking if I’m making progress. The good news is that my ankle is improving daily. No pain and less swelling every day. My wife, Terry, and I just completed an 8-day cleansing fast and I’m continuing for 90 days to treat for the parasites which apparently caused this problem. Anyway, I’m fine. I’m planning a golf round tomorrow. The weather here is truly beautiful and it seems a shame not to glory in it on the golf course. Fore!!

Essiac Tea Works — Here’s Even More Proof
***************************************
For any of you who have been wondering if Essiac Tea really works to heal cancer, just listen to this information I got recently from Jack Wilson, a reader in Finland. I’ll quote some of the e-mail I got from Jack. I think you’ll want to look up more on this wonderful substance. I’ll give you my best source at the end of this article. Here are some excerpts from Jack’s e-mail. In commenting about the tests of Essiac Tea done by the Chinese in 1993, he said:
“They tested 4 of the essiac tea herbs that were procured from Canada back in 1990-3 in 3 hospitals there in China. In one of the three tests the Chinese tested 583 people with various types of cancer and all were helped except for 13. The details are given on the internet address:
http://www.brain-tumor-cure.com
The Chinese have now accepted the herbs (the 4 herb version) and now list it as a ‘medicine’ to cure cancer. The Chinese get the herbs from Canada where the tea is brewed and bottled and sold around the world at present. The 4 herbs are:
1. Sheep Sorrel 2. Burdock Root 3. Slippery Elm 4. Rhubarb Root
The Chinese recommend a companion to their ‘Cessiac (the ‘C’ is to denote that it is Chinese essiac tea) which is called ‘Yuccalive’ and was used in the Chinese tests along with the essiac tea. The Yuccalive has the following ingredients in it:
1. Yuccca Schidigera 2. Fennel Seed 3. Anise Seed 4. Honey 5. Licorice Root 6. Clove Buds 7. Cinnamon Bark
I might add that these two tea drinks were used together in all of the controlled Chinese tests over the 3 year period in 3 hospitals. I might further add that other articles we have been reading say that the Cinnamon and Honey are also a cure for cancer.”
Thanks, Jack, for the great information on these clinical studies of Essiac Tea. Both the Cessiac and the Yuccalive are available in the U.S. and Canada from MPS International Marketing, Inc. in British Columbia. Check out their prices at:

My personal recommendation: I feel that obtaining the herbs for the Essiac Tea from a reliable source and brewing it yourself is not only cheaper but eliminates a lot of the variables in ordering it in liquid form, particularly from a source where it has to be imported. For my readers outside the U.S., you have at least two sources to choose from now. If I were you, I would use the above information as a validation of its efficacy — if you needed any more proof — and order it from my favorite source here in the U.S. That source is Allen Wenzel and his web site:
Allen has studied Essiac Tea enough to write a definitive book on it. He didn’t write it, but he sells the definitive book on it at his web site. It is called “Essiac Essentials — The Remarkable Herbal Cancer Fighter” by Sheila Snow and Mali Klein. Sheila Snow was a personal friend of Rene Caisse. Mali Klein is founder of Britain’s “The Clouds Trust,” which conducts research into Essiac. The book includes detailed instructions on where to buy Essiac, the most effective ways to brew it, and how to easily grow and harvest it at home.
Allen Wenzel is almost fanatic in putting together a mix of fresh, locally procured herbs. He gives you instructions on how to brew your own tea. His 16 ounce package of the ground up herbs is enough to last you for months and costs $39.95 plus shipping. Allen has been working with cancer patients to help them recover for about 18 years.
As for the Yuccalive, there is nothing wrong with this mixture. However, I don’t feel it is necessary. Certainly Nurse Rene Caisse, the original user of the Essiac (Caisse spelled backwards) Tea didn’t use the Yuccalive or anything similar. She healed thousands of cancer patients from 1922 through the 1960’s using just the proper mix of herbs in the Essiac Tea.
There is lots of information on the history of the Essiac herbs and Nurse Caisse’s experience at Allen’s website (see above). Check it out.

Avemar — Hype or “Holy Mary”
***************************
In the last two months, I have received a ton of information on Avemar, the latest “magic” cure for cancer. You’re not likely to hear about this from your oncologist. It’s a totally natural substance, made from wheat germ.
I have read enough about it, particularly in a “Special Report” from Dr. David Williams, author of the “Alternatives” newsletter, that I think you should at least look into it.
This product is based on the work of the famous Hungarian biochemist Albert Szent-Gyorgyi. Szent-Gyorgyi is probably best known for being awarded the 1937 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine for his work on the roles played by certain organic compounds (especially Vitamin C) in the oxidation of nutrients by cells. He is also noted for describing the process of cellular metabolism, which is called the “Szent-Gyorgyi/Krebs cycle” (or more commonly just the “Krebs cycle”).
After Gyorgyi migrated to the U.S. following World War II, he continued his work on cancer. It was based on his theory that certain naturally occurring compounds called quinones could be instrumental in helping to control the proper metabolism in cells. As you know, uncontrolled metabolism and rampant cell division is a defining characteristic of cancer.
Gyorgyi noted that wheat germ is a potent source of these quinone compounds. He suggested that they could be concentrated further through fermentation with baker’s yeast. Unfortunately, he died in 1986 with his work unfinished.
In the early 1990’s, another Hungarian named Dr. Mate Hidvegi picked up on Gyorgyi’s work. He developed the first fermented wheat germ for human consumption. The name “Avemar” for his product came from Ave Maria (Hail Mary in Latin) after his prayer for funds to continue his research was promptly answered.
Since then, much research has been done on this substance — in the lab, on animals and on humans. Over 100 reports have been written since 1996 and 16 peer-reviewed studies are currently accessible on PubMed.
The bottom line, according to Dr. Williams, is that
“…Avemar can be effective against cell lines from lymphoma, leukemia, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, and breast cancer (including estrogen-positive, -negative, and inflammatory.”
“Research at UCLA has demonstrated that Avemar reduces glucose flow into the cancer cells…[also] cancer cells can evade NK [natural killer] cells by masking their outer membrane with a special substance that the NK cells recognize as ‘normal.’ Avemar suppresses the release of this masking substance — allowing NK cells to better target and kill the cancer cells.”
“Avemar’s immune-stimulating ability appears to be so powerful that it can be useful in helping to restore even the most severely compromised immune systems.”
Wow! This sounds like a truly amazing cancer treatment. A perfectly harmless substance which not only starves the cancer cells but boosts the immune system — With lots of science to back it up. Would I try it if I were diagnosed with cancer? Probably. Do I recommend you try it? Well, that depends on the status of your bank account. As you will find at the source (at least the one in the U.S.), the price for a month’s supply is $161.95. In the U.S., it is sold as “Ave.” They, of course, are allowed to make no claims about it “curing” anything because of our ridiculous FDA restrictions on same.
In fairness to Dr. Williams, he has provided a well documented report on the history of this product. Also, he gives no source for buying it. Is he paid to tout products like this? Who knows? I’m not. I like Dr. Williams and trust him after reading his “Alternatives” newsletter for 16 years.
If you can afford it, I would certainly try it. I have been told by one reader that she was trying it. Unfortunately, she was taking so many other products, including my basic regimen, that there will be no way to tell its effectiveness from her experience.
Here’s the web site for ordering it. Just go to:
Click on “Our Products” at the top of the screen.
At least now you’re aware of it — and if you use it, please let me know your reaction.

TERRY INCREASES HER GAS MILEAGE
The recent drop in gas prices (is there an election coming soon?) has taken this topic off the front pages, at least temporarily. I bought a motor scooter four months ago and use it to run errands around town (fun, too!). My wife, Terry, has a different approach to fighting the gas price war. She tried a new additive in her gas tank and was blown away by the results. We did a pretty scientific study (similar driving conditions) of her gas mileage and found an immediate 17% increase. The manufacturer claims only a “7-14% increase,” but we found that was conservative. Our friends are claiming up to a 30% increase.
In addition, this product decreases emissions, improves engine performance and allows you to use the lower octane gas with the same efficiency. I’m pretty skeptical about engine additives. I’ve seen a lot of them in my 62 years of driving (I started young!). This one impresses me, and not just because Terry has decided to sell it. We figured with our average monthly gas bill for her car of $100 (three tankfuls), we’re saving $11.00 per month after the cost of the capsules ($2 per tankful). Savings are a lot more in Europe and most other parts of the world.
Wanna try it (and make my beautiful wife smile)? The first step is to listen to a four-minute description of both the product and the opportunity. Just call (toll free) (877) 222-6741 or (512) 703-8072. These numbers are available from anywhere in the world 24/7.
Then, just go to Terry’s web site: http://www.terryh.myffi.biz Take a look at the “About Us” page and the “Products” page. At the latter, you’ll find “Test Results,” “FAQs,” and “Testimonials.” To buy some to try, just go to the “Shop” page. You’ll need to open an account with your e-mail address and a password. Then, you can order a “trial” package of 10 of the capsules for under $20.
If you want to talk to Terry about it, just call her on her cell phone at (828) 301-8853 or our toll free number (800) 551-6209 (Eastern Time). Here’s to beating the greedy gas companies and helping the environment at the same time!!
THE BEST, MOST UP-TO-DATE BOOK ON CANCER
Well, I have to admit it. Someone has written a better book on cancer than mine. After losing seven of his family members to cancer, Ty Bollinger decided to do something about this horrible scourge. He has. His book, “Cancer — Step Outside The Box” is remarkable in its thorough discussion of both the “disease” (I prefer to call it a “reaction”) and its treatment.
If you want complete information on cancer, Ty’s book is the place to look. You can buy it at either amazon.com or Barnes & Noble (bn.com). Please don’t be put off by Ty’s incorporation of his sincere religious beliefs in his writing. This book is priceless to the cancer patient as an information source, including a chapter called “The Top Five Stage IV Treatments” and another called “The Overnight Cancer Cure (O.C.C.).” There is a great Appendix on “Recommended Cancer Clinics” and a Glossary and Index. This is a very professional job at compiling all the current information on alternative cancer treatment. Buy it. I’m not even an affiliate of Ty’s, just a fellow author. This young man just deserves to be rewarded for a magnificent effort to inform cancer patients.
OK, enough for this time. But don’t forget my bribe. Send me your story about your cancer experience — good, bad or neutral — and I’ll send you a free copy of my e-book “Cancer-Free.” Your story may help many other people. Just let me know if you want me to include your name or e-mail address when I publish it in the newsletter. I will certainly respect your privacy.
Do your friends a favor and send them to my web site:
